Entrepreneur lands in jail for attempting to bribe SP South

JAMMU: The Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested an entrepreneur for offering bribe to Superintendent of Police City South, Jammu to get extension of time for exhibition cum sale at Gole Market, Jammu beyond originally permitted period.
FIR (1/24) was registered on receipt of a complaint from Superintendent of Police City South, Jammu wherein she stated that while performing her duties in her office at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, the accused Chander Shekhar Vohra alias Sanjay Vohra, son of Late Madan Mohan Vohra, resident of 221, City Palace, Kachi Chawni, Jammu sent in a slip seeking appointment. On entering her office chamber, the accused presented a gift box along with yellow colour envelope containing cash to bribe her to seek undue favour that is extension of time for exhibition cum sale at Gole Market, Jammu beyond originally permitted period.
Immediately after the registration of case, the investigation was entrusted to Investigating Officer of ACB Jammu. During the course of investigation, the Investigating Officer recovered and seized a gift pack of sweets and envelope containing cash amounting to Rs 30,000 through separate seizure memos and also arrested the accused Chander Shekhar Vohra alias Sanjay Vohra. Further investigation of the case is in progress. The case has been registered under section 8 of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
