POONCH: Chandak Club shall take on DySP Manjeet Singh Memorial Volleyball Club in the final of the ongoing Open Volleyball (boys and girls) Tournament, organised by the Indian Army in support with J&K Sports Council (JKSC) at Pritam Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played on Saturday, Chandak Club defeated Pinto Club 3-1 (25- 22, 19-25, 25-23, 25-21) while Manjeet Club trounced Jallian Club (Mandi) in straight sets of 25-18, 25-14, 28-26. Preliminary Round: Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club beat Klai Volleyball Club 2-0 (25-23, 25-19).
In total, eight boys’ teams and other five in girls section took part in this event. In today’s round of the competition, Narjeet Singh, retired ZPEO was special guest, who interacted with the teams and officials.
The technical panel comprised Neeraj Sharma, Shafqat Shah, DK Sharma, Davinder Singh, Sachin Sharma, Ajaz Ahmed and Sabar Mohi ud Din. Also present were Navjot Singh Ram Parkash, Mushtaq Ahmed, Zakir Hussain and Prem Parkash Luthra.
