SAMBA: Volleyball Association of District Samba organised 35th district volleyball championship under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir ( UT ) for men and women at Abhyaas Volleyball Academy Tarlokpur, near Canal Jakh, here on Saturday. The championship was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Rohit Gupta, DySP in presence of Guest of Honour, Sandeep Charak, SHO Vijaypur, Dr Arti Mohan and Dr Swaroop Sharma.
Other dignitaries present were Nisha Rani, Sheetal Bogal, Rakesh Kumar, President District Volleyball Association Samb , Ramesh Kumar Sharma (Sarpanch), Secretary District Volleyball Association Samba B.S. Jamwal and Joint Secretary Satpal Sharma, Mentor (Khelo India ) Shivani Bhau.
A total of 20 teams including 16 men and four women are participating in the championship.
Today’s results:
MEN: Barhani Youth Club beat Patti A Club by 2-0 (25-15, 25-18); Barjani beat Barikhad by 2-1 (18-25, 25-17, 15-9); Swankha beat Friends Club Ramgarh by 2-1 (22-25, 25-17, 15-11); Rajneesh beat Patti B Club by 2-0 (25-15, 25-17); Abhyaas Club beat Shri Ram Club by 2-0 (25-19, 25-12); Raya beat Radha Krishna by 2-0 (25-21, 25-20); JBC Dugh beat Sanyog by 2-0 (25-17, 25-16); and Jakh beat Dahmore by 2-0 (25-16, 25-13)
WOMEN: Trikuta Club beat Gho – Brahmana by 2-0 (25-13, 25-17); and Abhyaas beat Samba Warriors by 2-0 (25-19, 25-13).
Today’s matches were officiated by Satpal, Rohini Devi, Aman, Shivali, Neeraj, Panku, Ayisha Tabssum, Ishima Verma, Lavanya Mahajan and Nazish.
