JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday resolved to strive for absolute majority in the Legislative Assembly and to have a BJP Chief Minister in Jammu and Kashmir.
In an elaborate 18-point political agenda adopted at a meeting, the BJP also resolved that there should be no talks with Pakistan or the agents of Pakistan, including the persons or organizations, which are ‘preponders’ or supporters of separatism in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Terror and talks cannot go together”, the resolution says, adding that while the party will support all measures required to curb terrorism in J&K, it will reach out to the people and win their hearts and minds.
The resolution added that the BJP Government in J&K will work to instill the feeling of confidence and peace in the masses and to promote nationalistic spirit to fight terror supporters and those promoting separatism.
The resolution observed that though normalcy is fast returning to Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan is still trying to destabilize the Union Territory by subversive activities and unleashing a reign of terror on this soil. The recent spurt in terrorist activities in Rajouri and Poonch district are reflection of the dubious designs of the hostile neighbor, it stated and resolving that the BJP Unit stands by the Armed Forces in their relentless brave effort to root out terrorism from Jammu & Kashmir and defeating the nefarious designs of Pakistan.
Bharatiya Janata Party resolves that those responsible for the exodus of the minorities from Kashmir in 1989-90 under tragic circumstances should be identified and prosecuted.
The Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for leading the country for nine and half glorious years, which have witnessed the transformation of the country and has brought it on the verge of becoming Vishav Guru.
“India under the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi has emerged as a decisive, farsighted and strong Nation. The socio economic policies of the Government, infrastructural interventions and a model of people oriented good governance with the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas has empowered each section of the society and most importantly the deprived, marginalized and disadvantaged”, the resolution stated, adding “We all resolve to work at the grass-root level as soldiers of the party to strengthen the movement of the Prime Minister to build an empowered and Atam Nirbhar Bharat.”
The resolution stated that INDI – Alliance, which is promoted and promulgated by the Congress and is having the support from its past allies whether National Conference or PDP or such like persons, is an alliance of opportunism and have been a group of the political persons who had been supporting separatism in Jammu and Kashmir whether legally politically or socially and the people of Jammu & Kashmir have now realized their true faces and in the coming parliamentary elections these forces will be totally decimated. The people of Jammu & Kashmir have full faith in the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and are supportive of his efforts of restoring peace, normalcy and ensuring economic resurgence of J&K by equitable empowerment of all irrespective of caste, creed, ethnicity and religion’, it added.
On the recent assembly elections in the various states, the resolution stated that all Indians share such a deep connect with the pro-poor welfare policies and innovative vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the ‘Modi Magic’ shattered all the records of victory in the recent Assembly Elections. While the party wrested Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh from the Congress and retained Madhya Pradesh with convincing margins, in Tilangana and Mizoram the BJP handsomely increased its vote share, it added.
“The convincing victory in the recent Assembly Elections is a testimony to the unflinching support that the BJP enjoys under the towering leadership of Yashasvi Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, the resolution said and resolved that the BJP Jammu and Kashmir Unit will reach out to the people at the last mile and ensure that the people of UT also contribute in the expected historical victory of the party in the 2024 Parliamentary Elections going by the people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The resolution stated that the country’s quest for Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan – Ek Bharat fructified under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5, 2019 with the Parliament abrogating Article 370 undoing the Nehruvian Himalayan blunder. The Supreme Court’s verdict upholding the constitutionality of the abrogation of Article 370 is a landmark welcome decision putting a stamp of finality paving the way for strengthening the Nation.
It also added that Jammu & Kashmir has seen turmoil, upheaval and tragedies and the judgement has further reinforced the Nation’s resolve to pave the way of new hope, new rejuvenated aspirations for the people of J&K ending an era of exploitative politics and devolving equitable rights in the Union Territory to all irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion, region or sub region. Fuelling the urge of Naya Jammu and Kashmir- a better brighter prosperous peaceful J&K where all will live in harmony togetherness and no discrimination.
The resolution added that Parliament has passed the Women Reservation Bill in the Parliament and the State Assemblies to the extent of 33 percent. This will ensure the major participation of women in the administration and the political will of the country and Jammu and Kashmir, it said, adding that the wider representation given to women in the state assembly and other representative bodies will ensure that the benefits will go to the root level to the women folk.
“Parliament has also passed the OBC’s reservation which will again ensure the benefits coming to the other backward classes, which had been the marginalized society. Though the benefit of reservation had been given to OBC’s and rest of the country but because of the situation created by Article 370, the benefits were not given to the OBC’s in Jammu and Kashmir. With the nomination of other backward classes in Jammu and Kashmir finally the justice has done to them”, the resolution stated, adding that a provision has been made to nominate one member from PoJK displaced persons and two members from Kashmir migrants (Including one women in the Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory). The nomination will ensure the participation of these two segments which have been the victim of hatred, separatism and terrorism, it observed, saying the decision is welcome by the party and also the displaced persons of PoJK as well as the migrant community.
“Tourism has seen in large influx after the improvement of security scenario Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. People of Jammu and Kashmir region have welcome the new increase in number of tourism by many fold whether it is religious tourism of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi yatra or leisure tourism in Kashmir. With the increase in the tourism the financial positions of thousands of people associated with the tourism has increased”, the resolution added.
The political resolution also dwelt on the various other initiatives, saying that Jammu & Kashmir has seen major development under various projects including the Smart cities, the Sabar Mati river project on Tawi, the lake project and in the coming times with the completion of these projects there will be ease to the life and the major development of both Jammu and Srinagar.
“Under the new regime and in view of return of Jammu and Kashmir to the normalcy there had been huge investments from outside to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The recent amendment to the land laws making the ease of allotment as a halmark as per the consolidation of the investment in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory”, the resolution added.
On power sector, the resolution said that after the erratic supply of the power for few months, the position of power supply has stabilized in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, giving a healing touch to the public both in Jammu as well as Kashmir. Similar is the position to the supply of water also, it added.
“During this period India has emerged as world leader in Science and Technology by successfully launching of Chandaryan, and landing of Chandaryan on the surface of the moon at a cost which is fraction of what is invested by other countries. Similarly the mission to sun (Aditya1) has also opened new opportunities in science and technology in research in India”, the resolution observed.
“The initiative of Modi Government ( Modi Ki Guarantee) has largely reached far-flung area of including in Jammu and Kashmir UT. The people have majorly gained under Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra it has taken the guarantee of the Government door steps of the far-flung areas by educating the people about the schemes of welfare of Modi Government in the Vikshit Bharat lack of people have joined the development agenda as guaranteed by Prime Minster Modi and have registered under various schemes of Modi Government. Jan Samvad another brilliant move of the party was to associate in Jan Samvad wherein, the scheme of the Government was taken to the common man at micro level and ensuring that the benefits of the schemes or given to the masses”, the resolution added.
It added that the Vishwa Karma Scheme started by the Modi Government in the shape of Vishwa Karma Scheme wherein artisans were given the benefit of getting training in their chosen trade and during the period of the training they will be given the monetary as also loans to support their trade and given them better opportunity to earn their livelihood with new acquired skills and tools.
“The promulgation of Anand Marriage Act in J&K is a welcome step in consonance with the aspirations of the Sikh community”, the resolution stated, adding that the Government has disbanded the old archaic British system of criminal procedure by bringing Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, 2023 bill, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, 2023 and Bharatiya Sakshya (Second) Bill (BSB) 2023. These new criminal bills will free people from colonial procedures and aim to overhaul the British-era criminal laws that continued to govern the criminal justice system in India for the last seven decades.
“After struggling and fight of 5 Century finally the Ram Mandir has constructed in Ayodhya, and will be dedicated to the public on 22nd of January 2024, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is victory of ours on forcibly occupation of religious spaces by the enemies of humanity. The construction of temple is historic and will be celebrated throughout the country because of the vision of Prime Minister it has finally taken practical shape”, the resolution added.

Modi has given J&K a new sunrise; Abdullahs, Muftis must stop nefarious designs: Chugh

JAMMU: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday said that the Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra would usher in a new era of welfare schemes for Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting of the BJP office bearers here, Chugh said while cards for Rs 5 lakh insurance of every citizen would be distributed during the Yatra in J&K, at the same time new forms would be circulated among new beneficiaries of various schemes launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chugh said a fresh wind of change has started in J&K where common man’s interests and needs are being taken care of. In the past, he said, Abdullahs, Muftis and Congress never cared for the common man and never thought of any development or progress of the region. They played divisive politics to generate anti-national sentiments for their cheap politics.
Chugh said now the youth talks about computers and tourism not of stones and terrorism.
While strongly condemning recent incidents of terrorist violence in Kashmir, Chugh said terrorism has always been a cross border sponsored exercise. But the security forces in J&K would always defeat their nefarious designs, he added.
Chugh warned Abdullahs and Muftis against propagating anti-national sentiments by giving tacit support to the Pakistan sponsored subversive elements.
The Prime Minister has charted a new course of progress and development for the J&K people and a new sun has risen here, Chugh added.

BJP will sweep LS polls in J&K: Raina

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir BJP, under State President Ravinder Raina, held 1-day convention of state office bearers, District Prabharis, District and Morcha Presidents, and Vistaraks at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, on Saturday.
BJP National General Secretary and J&K Prabhari Tarun Chugh, National Secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, General Secretary (org.) Ashok Koul, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, former MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, former minister Sat Sharma, general secretaries Vibodh Gupta and Dr. Devinder Manyal addressed different sessions of this day long convention.
Tarun Chugh, while addressing the convention, said that the party is in election mode from top to bottom. As far J&K, it is high time to work hard and register massive victory. BJP activists have to make people aware of the wrongdoings of the past governments before the abrogation of Article 370 and also expose the role of parties of three families, which pushed this state towards uncertainty and kept it under development. Stressing upon the party leadership to set a target of securing 51 per cent of votes in the future elections in the UT, Tarun Chugh said that an effective road map has to be formulated without any delay to achieve the desired results. He also spoke on the importance of J&K for BJP, saying that this border UT is not just a piece of land but the crown of mother India with which every activist of the party has emotional attachment.
Ravinder Raina, in his welcome address, said that the BJP’s splendid victory in recently held elections in three states has given a boost to party activists in J&K also and the people too are in a mood to support and vote for it. He said that each one of us has to contribute in making the target of 400 seats in 2024 elections true.
BJP will sweep 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir and to achieve this success our party cadre in entire length and breadth of the UT is putting best efforts to ensure that the people repose faith in us enmass, he said
He also spoke on Booth Jan Samvad programmes, terming such events as opportunities for direct interaction with the general public at booth level. He further said that Modi ki guarantee ki gadi, the LED fixed van under ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ Abhiyaan is proving very effective in convincing the people that the Narendra Modi government has brought revolution in different fields in the country and changed the lives of the people. He was of the view that reaching the doorsteps of the people and educating them about the pro-people, pro-development policies of PM Narendra Modi are reflective of the concern of the union government for the overall development, peace and prosperity.
Dr. Narinder Singh termed the victory of the party in three states as the reliability of the Modi government plus the time bound hardwork of party activists at the ground level. He stressed on the decentralization of duties and work among the party activists to achieve effective implementation of public welfare schemes of the Modi government at the ground level, while carrying the party policies and schemes to the people.
Ashok Koul, while speaking in the convention, shared the salient features of the 22-23 December meeting held at New Delhi, and said that our full attention is to be on 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The party activists have to mobilize the people at grass-root level, contact the poor and needy people, make them aware about various social welfare schemes, extend help in availing benefits if anyone could not apply in the past. The party leaders should also plan their stay in rural and far-flung areas to develop better liaison with the people. He also shared with the party activists the forthcoming party programmes.
Vibodh Gupta asked the party leaders present in the convention to ensure that maximum people join the party activists in their respective areas to listen to PM’s Mann ki Baat monthly radio broadcast.
Former MLA Devinder Rana presented a 16-point political resolution carrying the party’s vision and policies. It was seconded by Vice-President Sham Lal Sharma and unanimously adopted after introduction of suggestions.
Dr. Devinder Manyal conducted the proceedings of the convention. He also presented a Power Point Programme analyzing the party’s victory in 3 assembly elections.
