KISHTWAR: In the aftermath of heavy rainfall in the entire district, the District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Mohd Javed Khan on Tuesday convened a meeting of officers concerning disaster management and essential services. ADDC Kishtwar A. S Chib, ADC Kishtwar Mohd Hanief Malik, ACR Kishtwar Sudershan Salaria besides the district officers Police PDD, PHE, PWD, Health, CAPD , BSNL, PMGSY, GREF, Forests and Municipal committee Kishtwar participated in the meeting.
The DDC took the stock of the damages due to landslides and relief work in far flung areas of Marwah, Warwan Padder and Dachhan. He assessed the condition of national highway and link roads, availability of food grains, LPG, petrol, diesel, kerosene oil, medicines and other essential articles. The PDD and PHE Deptts were directed to ensure the supply of electricity and drinking water respectively. Officers of PWD and PMGSY and GREF were directed to ensure clearance all roads.The Health deptt was directed to ensure essential medical services to remote areas as well.
The BSNL authorities were asked to restore mobile and landline network immediately in the district. The revenue officers were asked to assess the damages to public and private property and submit the compensation claims of affected families immediately. All the officers were directed to remain alert to tackle any sort of emergency situation .
