CS inaugurates up-graded Infrastructure at Revenue Training Institute Jammu

JAMMU: Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta on Wednesday inaugurated the upgraded Infrastructure Phase-1, including the Guest House & Hostel building at the Revenue Training Institute, Gole Gujral Jammu.
Financial Commissioner Revenue, Shaleen Kabra, DC Jammu Sachin Vaishya, Custodian General S. Rajinder Singh Tara, Additional Commissioner Revenue Rishpal Singh, Regional Director SLR, Principal RTI, Administration Officer, Course Director besides other staff members were also present on the occasion.
Infrastructure in the Revenue Training Institute including hostel facilities and guest house has been renovated and upgraded with project cost of Rs. 1.5 crore during the Financial year 2022-23.
Both the hostel building and the Guest House were not functional since many years due to want of repair and renovation. Due to which, residential training programmes in the RTI Jammu could not be conducted since many years. RTI Jammu is a premier training institution used to conduct various training programmes not only for the Revenue department but also for the other departments.
During the calendar year 2023 about 990 officers / officials have been trained in RTI Jammu, various online/offline training modules for training of approx. 4300 officers/ officials have been proposed for the year 2024.
Later, Financial Commissioner Revenue, Shaleen Kabra had an interactive session with the trainee officers of the department, attending training programme at the institute.
Kabra, while appreciating the efforts of the Revenue Department for bringing transparency and accountability in providing services to the public also advised the Officers & Officials of the Revenue Department to work with zeal to ensure delivery of services to the general public, well in time. The trainee officers while giving the feedback also had some queries and suggestions regarding the online services provided by the Revenue Department.
It is in place to mention here that 38 online revenue services are being provided to the citizen in the UT of J&K and services are also covered under PSGA (Public Service Gurantee Act). Financial Commissioner Revenue J&K advised the revenue officers for strict enforcement of PSGA timelines.
He also directed Principal Revenue Training Institute to devise both offline and online training modules for the Revenue Officers / officials for next calendar year on the basis of feedback received from the participants and reading material in shape of compendium consisting of all important Revenue Laws / Rules to be prepared and distributed among the participants in the future training programme.
