Despite Uttarakhand skipper Aarav’s superb ton J&K gains vital 1st innings lead

JAMMU: Uttarakhand’s talented middle-order batter and skipper, Aarav Mahajan and opening batter Abhuday slammed splendid centuries to help their side put 407 runs on board, yet conceding a first innings lead of 133-runs to Jammu and Kashmir in U-19 Men’s Cooch Behar Trophy at Highlanders Sports Academy Kashipur on Sunday.
Earlier, Uttarakhand resuming from the overnight score of 152/1, Uttarakhand opening batsman Abhyuday, who was unbeaten on 72 runs completed his century (124 runs) in the company of his skipper, Aarav Mahajan, who scored masterful 134 runs off 267 balls with 20 magnificent boundaries.
Another overnight unbeaten batter Sanskar Rawat contributed 48 runs. Both the centurions played sensibly but Aarav in particular was in sublime touch, hit the ball with fluidity and grace.
For J& K, first innings centurion Dhruv Sharma captured 3 wickets, while Ritwik Jaitley and Laith August took 2 wickets each. Mohd Mousab Bhat, Zaid Ahmed and Salman Ahmed Bakshi claimed one wicket each.
J&K were 8/0 in the second essay at stumps today.
