Army organises Mendhar Premier League Cricket

MENDHAR: To promote sports, culture and camaraderie as well as provide an opportunity to youth to showcase their talent, Mendhar Gunners are organising Mendhar Premier League from December 10 to 27, 2020.
The tournament has witnessed enthusiastic participation of 32 teams including many from border villages as well. The 18 days long cricket extravaganza will be played on a knock out format.
In the inaugural match Banolla Warriors defeated Mendhar Gladiators by nine runs, winning a close encounter.
Bhimber Gali Station Commander was the Chief Guest for the inaugural match.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commander encouraged youth to actively participate in various sports competitions for which army, civil administration and society have joined hands to create conducive atmosphere.
He also hoped that some of youth may join state or national teams in the future.
The tournament was another testimony of Army’s commitment to provide youth of Jammu and Kashmir a platform to showcase their talent and channelize their youthful exuberance in a positive manner on sports field.
