JKP Wrestler Nadeem lifts Tote Kesari Dangal

JAMMU: Wrestler Nadeem of J&K Police and a resident of district Doda lifted 51th Annual Tote (Bhomag) Dangal title defeating Sonu of Kathua (Akhara Laliyan in Punjab) in main bout that took place at Tote in Tehsil Bhomag of district Reasi.
Winner of the main bout Nadeem awarded with a cash prize Rs.12,000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta while runners-up Sonu got Rs. 9,000.
Dangal was organized by Bheem Devta Dangal Committee Bhomag in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Sarpanch Laldeep Singh, Novil Singh, Subash Singh and Vinod Singh.
The DDC Chairman Reasi, Saraf Singh Nag was the chief guest who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Prominent social activist Sohan Singh Thakur (Sonu) and Under Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department Thanna Ji Bhat were guests of honour.
The bouts officiated by Nazir Ahmed, Kartar Singh, Tulinder Kumar and Murli Dhar (Munna). Proceeding of the Vishal Dangal conducted by Anil Kumar.
In all, 90 bouts were played in this day-long dangal and Rs. 2,70,000 distributed as cash prizes among the wrestlers. Sohan Singh Thakur (Sonu) and Kirpal Singh both are resident of Daroor (Katra) contributed of Rs. 11,000 each as financial assistance to the organizers i.e, prize money for the first bout. The second main bout went to Anil of Reasi who defeated Zakker of Laliyan (Punjab). Winner Anil got Rs. 9,000 while runners-up Zakker got Rs. 6,000. Third bout secured by Chand of Harayana beating Madan Singh of Akhara Roun Domail. Another third bout between Kharpu of Jammu and Balwan Singh of Kalha Mandir Akhara Reasi ended in a draw.
The fourth bout won by Shubam of Delhi beating Jarmail Singh of Kalha Akhara Reasi. Other Results: Ankush of Delhi beat Happy of Ajnala, Aman of Jammu beat Soni of Patti, Krishan of Haryana beat Subash Singh of Narkote, Reasi and Chain Singh of Roun Domail Akhara beat Deenu of Kathua.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, senior vice-president of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India honoured prominent social activist Punjab Singh, age 90 years of Village Kothri and Sarpanch Luldeep, president of host Dangal committee by presenting them Mata Ki Chunnari and Turban in presence of Saraf Singh Nag.
Members of Bheem Devta Dangal Committee who helped in the conduct of Dangal included Sarpanch Laldeep, Novil Singh, Subash Singh, Vinod Singh, Rakesh Singh, Bharat Singh, Angrez Singh, Joginder Sinh, Karan Singh, Ram Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Kulbir Singh, Jarnail Singh, Amar Singh, Muni Lal, Gurdev Singh, Mohd. Rafi, Prabhu Singh, Raghbir Singh, Shatter Singh and Manjeet Singh.
Prominent among those present were Sarpanch Pawan Dev Singh of Devigarh, Sudesh Pandotra (BJP Senior Leader Reasi), Bansi Lal Thakur (Ex. Sarpanch), Krishan Lal (Ex. Panch), Prem Singh (Retd. for Health Department), Prem Singh (Retd. from Education Department), Kuldeep Singh Pehlwan from Jangalgalli and Madan Singh (Lambu Raja) of Salal.
