SIA conducts searches in Reasi, recovers sensitive documents, electronic gadgets

Jammu: In response to critical intelligence reports indicating the presence of active terror helpers and overground workers assisting anti-national elements in the upper reaches of Tehsil Mahore and Pouni area of District Reasi, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) Jammu took swift action to address this pressing security concern.
Based on the intelligence received, it was suspected that these helpers were providing logistical support and information to individuals associated with anti-national activities.
It was also revealed that these individuals were using various apps on their Android mobile phones to communicate with Pakistan-based terrorists and handlers, with a clear intent to revive terrorist activities in the hinterland.
In light of these alarming reports, State Investigation Agency Jammu obtained search warrants from the courts under FIR 2/2022, invoking Sections 13, 18, 19, 21, 23, 38, 39, and 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAP Act).
The Joint Investigation Cell (JIC) of SIA Jammu, in coordination with local law enforcement, swiftly conducted searches in the houses of Sardar Din, son of Amkalla, resident of Khour, tehsil Mahore, district Reasi at present Aldhara Khour, tehsil Mahore, Reasi; Zubair Ahmed, son of Mohd Hanief, resident of Deharu, Tehsil Pouni, Reasi and Mohd Shafi, son of Abdul Gaffar, resident of Dabri, Tehsil Mahore, Reasi.
During these meticulously conducted searches, a significant amount of evidence was discovered, including electronic gadgets and relevant documents, which will help in further investigations.
These operations were carried out under the vigilant supervision of an executive magistrate and with the active participation and support of the District Police Reasi.
The State Investigation Agency Jammu is committed to maintaining the safety and security of the region and will continue to take decisive actions against any individuals or groups involved in anti-national activities or terrorism.
