J&K team shines in 2nd BBF National Boxing Championship

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir team won 24 medals including seven gold, 12 silver and five bronze in the 2nd BBF National Boxing Championship held at Rohtak from August 25 to 27, 2023.
A total of 450 boxers from 10 states participated in this championship in sub-junior, junior, youth and senior boxers and girls categories.
Winner J&K team welcomed at Railway Station by Coach Anil Kumar Wadhera and parents of the boxers on reaching Jammu.
They said that team had excelled due to the facilities provides by Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council at MA Stadium Jammu.
J&K coach and team were congratulated by President J&K Boxing Association Dr. Nirmolak Singh.
SENIOR: (48-51) kg: Ankit Saini (J&K) beat Aman (Hr) in the final and won Gold medal. (51-54) kg: Dildhar Singh (J&K) beat Sachin in the final and won Gold medal. (51-54) Kg: Sachin Sharma (J&K) lost to Dildhar Sachin in the final and won silver medal. (54-57) Kg: Gourav Choudhary (J&K) beat Shrivan (TN) in the final and won Gold medal. (57-60) Kg: Parth Khajuria (J&K) lost to Rohit (Har.) in the final and won silver medal. (60-63) Kg: Rohit Majotra (J&K) lost to Snudernam (TN) in the final and won silver medal. (67-70) Kg: Ranyodh Charak (J&K lost to Ravinder (Har.) and won bronze medal. (67-70) Kg: Gourav Mehra (J&K) lost to Ravinder (Har.) in the final and won silver medal. (70-75) Kg: Sanjay Sharma (J&K) beat Nitesh (TN) in the final and won gold medal. (75-81) Kg: Goutam Choudhary (J&K) lost to Salvan (TN) in the final and won silver medal.
YOUTH BOYS: (46-48) Kg: Kush Sharma(J&K) beat Hari (TN) in the final and won gold medal. (48-51) Kg: Narayan (J&K) lost to Kanav (Har) in the final and won silver medal. (67-71) Kg: Gurmahar Singh (J&K) beat Pawan (Hyd.) in the final and won gold medal.
YOUTH GIRLS: (44-46) Kg: Palak Sharma(J&K) beat Tanu (TN) in the final and won gold medal.
JUNIOR BOYS: (44-46) Kg: Vishesh Singh (J&K) lost to Ankur (Har.) in the final and won silver medal. (57-60) Kg: Aditya Sharma(J&K) beat Sundram (TN) and won bronze medal. (57-61) Kg: Dinesh Sahu(J&K) lost to Sukam (TN) in the final and won silver medal. (67-71) Kg: Kanav Sharma (J&K) lost to Shri Ram (TN) in the final and won silver medal.
JUNIOR GIRLS: (44-46) Kg: Sachi (J&K) lost to Simran (Har.) in the final and won silver medal.
SUB-JUNIOR: (38-40) Kg: Prahas Singh (J&K) beat Kishor (Har.) and won bronze medal. (40-43) Kg: Kameshwar Sharma(J&K) beat Tarun(TN) and won bronze medal. (51-54) Kg: Kulbir Singh (J&K) lost to Aman(Har.) in the final and won silver medal. (67-71) Kg: Tarun Kalotra (J&K) lost to Vikas (TN) in the final and won silver medal.
