JAMMU: On the occasion of 76th Independence Day under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and My Youth My Pride initiative, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK) in association of district associations and Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council organized volleyball competitions in various districts.
Poonch: District Poonch Volleyball Association organized a volleyball competition for women at HS Ajote near LOC in which teams from HS Ajote, Stadium Volleyball Club and GHSS Sheesh Mahal participated. Stadium Volleyball Club emerged as the winner. Headmaster HS Ajote, Nazmeen Akhter grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Other prominent persons present were Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch Nirdosh Sharma, R.P Sharma, Romesh Chander, Devinder Singh PEM, staff members of Ajote. The organisers of the tournament were Neeraj Sharma and D.K Raina.
Baramulla: Baramulla District Volleyball Association organised an exhibition volleyball match at Mini Studium Uri between Uri Star Jr team and BHSS Uri. ZEO Uri, Qasim Ali Mir was the Chief Guest. BHSS Uri beat Uri Star Jr by 3-2 sets. The prizes were distributed among both the teams and officials.
Udhampur: Volleyball Association of District Udhampur organized a boys and girls tournament at Tehsil Ramnagar. In the boys section, 5 teams and in the girls section, 4 teams participated. In the final, Ramnagar boys beat Badole Volleyball Club by 2-1 (25-19, 22-25, 15-13) and in girls GDC Women Ramnagar beat Ramnagar Volleyball Club by 2-0 (25-22, 25-23). In the final Yuvraj Singh, national player in volleyball and Senior Prosecuting Officer was the Chief Guest, Sohan Singh SHO Ramnagar was Guest of Honour, Pawan Dev Singh national player, Rakesh Rahi Lect. Physical Education, Rishi Gupta, Rakesh Kharka and other prominent persons were present.
