A Jammu based minister has assured several deputations of Durbar Move employees’ families that ‘instructions have been issued to the Kashmir Administration for ensuring all necessary arrangements for their safety and evacuating the trapped population in submerged areas’. This speaks of ignorance of the Honourable Minister about ground situation, as communication links have totally collapsed in Kashmir. He may not be aware that the government is clueless even about some ministers and top bureaucrats trapped in floods.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the publicity savvy leaders and ministers to hold out false hopes to the people instead of letting them just know about welfare of their kith and kin?
