CHANDIGARH: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today  took a serious note of Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann leaving the state to attend the political meeting in Bangalore.

In a statement Chugh said it was quite irresponsible on the part of the chief minister that he had chosen to ignore the administration of the flood-hit Punjab to go for political tourism.

He said half of Punjab was still caught in a serious flood situation and there was a serious threat of epidemic spreading in parts of the state. At a time when the chief minister should have been personally keeping an eye on the critical situation, it is quite shameful that he has chosen to leave the state for his political reasons.

Meanwhile, Chugh welcomed the decision of the Modi government to open an office of the Narcotics Control Bureau in Amritsar. He said the way the Bhagwant Mann has failed to control the problem of drugs in the state it was essential that the Central agencies take over the vigil of the border towns of the state which have been seeing steep rise in smuggling of drugs from Pakistan.
