Foul language against PM: Mayor expels Councillor for a day from proceedings of General House Meeting

JAMMU: Mayor Rajinder Sharma and General Secretary All India Mayor’s Council has expelled Independent Councillor, Prof. Yudhvir Singh from the proceedings of General House Meeting of JMC for one day today after the Prof Singh uttered some objectionable words for PM Modi.
JMC General House discusses formulation of Building Bye-Laws-2023
JAMMU: The 20th General House meeting of Jammu Municipal Corporation was on Saturday held here in the Council Hall JMC under the Chairmanship of Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma and in presence of Deputy Mayor JMC, Baldev Billawaria and Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Rahul Yadav.
Threadbare discussions were held on formulation of Jammu Municipal Corporation Building Bye-Laws-2023. The Corporators gave their valuable views and suggestions so that people friendly bye-laws come out.
A power point presentation was also given by concerned authorities, highlighting the objectives of draft Formulation of Jammu Municipal Corporation Building Bye-Laws-2023.
The House was also informed about the other parameters of JMC Building bye-laws 2023 through power point presentation including provision of parking in new commercial establishments. The Corporators raised queries during the discussion and demanded to clear all bottlenecks as per the needs of local people.
The Mayor also sought suggestions from the Corporators regarding provisions of commercial establishment of parking and other related issues for new as well as old shops/buildings especially in old Jammu City so as to incorporate these in the provisions of JMC Building bye-laws 2023.
The Mayor said that after implementation of the JMC Building bye-laws 2023, Inspector Raj will be ended and people would be benefitted and their property value will also increase. He said after the implementation, the people will voluntarily come forward to seek Building permissions.
The Mayor said that the main objective of bringing the building bye-laws is to facilitate the people of Jammu city in terms of providing easy permission of buildings and parking facilities.
The Mayor said that the House will continue to meet till the consent is not given to the draft of JMC Building bye-laws 2023. He said sufficient time will be given to the House so that fruitful discussions could be held on the plan.
Earlier, the House passed the minutes of the 19th General House meeting with voice vote.
Secretary, JMC Jammu; senior officers of JMC and concerned department were also present on the occasion.
“He used foul language for the leader who saved crores of Indians and other round the world during COVID-19 pandemic, he talked against the man who provided food at door steps of poor Indians during pandemic and put Rs. 300 in their bank accounts, he talked against one who was State Guest at UN and took the nation to great heights,” the Mayor said adding that speaking against such a great personality means speaking against humanity and such erring person should never be pardoned.
After this the Mayor instructed the Councillor Prof. Yudhvir Singh to remain away from the proceedings of the House for a day.
He said that the GHM was to discuss and pass building by laws which will end ‘Inspector Raaj’ to benefit the public at large but the opposition did not wanted this and created unwanted disturbance.
Earlier, a general house meeting of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) witnessed noisy scenes as some opposition members objected to the dropping of a few “public interest” resolutions.
