Police cracks Rangoor firing case within hours; arrests 3 hardcore smugglers, recovers 2.8 Kg heroin

SAMBA: Under the guidance of Director General Police Dilbag Singh, ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh, DIG Range Shakti Pathak and SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has achieved a major success in solving the sensational Rangoor firing case within few hours after the commission of offence and arrested three hardcore heroin smugglers, recovered 2.080 kg heroin, Rs. 93200 cash, one pistol, one magazine and several rounds.
On the intervening night of 11 and 12 June 2023, three heroin smugglers. Jagdeep Singh ( 21 ) son of Dilbag Singh resident of Madipur, tehsil Patti, district TaranTaran Punjab; Satinderpal Singh ( 26) son of Daljinder Singh, Resident of Rattoke, GurudwaraBhikh Wind, district TaranTaran Punjab and Sunny Kumar (22), son of Surjeet Singh, resident of Guru Nanakpura, Amritsar, Punjab entered into altercation. followed by scuffle on trivial issue of giving pass to the vehicle with the local eight youth at border village Rangoor Camp in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh and during scuffle Satinder Paul Singh opened fire with pistol Glock upon the local youth due to which two local youth, Sunil Kumar ( 21), son of Bhagwan Dass, resident of Rangoor Camp and Sunil Kumar ( 21), son of Amarnath, resident of Rangoor Camp sustained bullet injuries. During this scuffle, one of the three smugglers, Sunny also got injured due to gun shot of his accomplice Satinder Paul Singh. As the smugglers’ Innova vehicle had been caught by the local youth after firing, smugglers including the injured one fled from the spot using a bike belonging to the local youth. In the meanwhile, information had been received through reliable sources to the Police Station Ramgarh regarding the firing incident and Police registered a case FIR No. 31/2023 U/S 307 IPC, 3/25 Arms Act at Police Station Ramgarh and started investigation. All Nakas across the district were alerted and information was shared with all the Police Stations/ Police Posts of the district by PCR Samba under the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh. The alert Police Party of Rarian Naka succeeded in apprehending all the three smugglers. who were fleeing after committing crime.
All the three injured were immediately shifted to CHC Ramgarh from where they were referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment.
Police arrested all the three heroin smugglers including one injured. During questioning, they disclosed in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class that they had hidden a Pistol Glock with magazine ammunition and some suspicious pockets near the Rarian Naka point. Upon this, a Police team composed of SDPO Vijaypur, Executive Magistrate 1st Class, SHO and other officers brought the accused to the disclosed suspected Point near Rarian and recovered one pistol with one magazine and 04 live rounds and two pockets of heroin weighing 2.080 KG. Upon this Police has added section 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act to the instant case and started investigation. Police has also recovered rupees 93200.00 Indian currency from the possession of the accused and also seized 04 costly mobile phones including Apple mobile from their possession. Police has also seized a vehicle Innova bearing registration No.CH0BW-8889 which was used for heroin smuggling. Police also seized 03 used rounds and 01 live rounds from the scene of crime. Further investigation of the case is underway.
