Gujarat: Man held for posing as IAS officer, recommending relatives for jobs
AHMEDABAD: A man was arrested by city police on Tuesday for allegedly posing as a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and recommending his relatives for jobs.
Sudhakar Pandey, the accused, had registered himself as a “senior IAS officer” on a caller identification app so as to make a convincing impression about his false identity, said a police official.
The Ahmedabad cyber crime cell arrested him from Vadodara and booked under Indian Penal Code sections 419 (cheating by personation) and 469 (forgery for the purpose of causing harm).
Pandey confessed that he used to call various firms and recommend his relatives for jobs while claiming to be an IAS officer himself, the official said.
Further probe is underway, he added. (PTI)
