JAMMU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed the narrative of women empowerment by promoting women-led development and keeping them at the centre of policy-making, Senior BJP leader and Former Minister, Ch Sukhnandan said on Saturday.
“We all are brothers and sisters and we have to hold our hands together to take the country forward under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the former minister said.
Lauding Prime Minister Modi, Ch Sukhnandan said he has promoted women-led development by keeping them at the centre of policymaking.
He was speaking at the Mahila Shashaktikaran programme held at Gajansoo, Marh here on Saturday.
“India is a country where a woman became a president, prime minister, chief ministers from different states and even heads of political parties and speakers of the houses of Parliament,” he said.
“The fields once dominated by men have been taken over by women. Police, army, commercial pilots were all men but now women are in combat positions in the Army, driving Air Force planes, they are going to space, and even climbing Everest,” Ch Sukhnandan added.
Ch Sukhnandan urged the Mahila Morcha members to reach out to women in every nook and corner of the UT at the grass roots level and ensure their participation in all the upcoming polls.
During the meeting Sanjita Dogra, President BJP Mahila Morcha briefed the participants about the functioning of the Morcha and the schedule of upcoming programmes to be organized in the coming days.
