Plastic ban awareness campaign held at JK Public School Kunjwani

JAMMU: To end plastic pollution and to make awareness among the people, a drive was initiated at JK Public School (JKPS) Kunjwani.
Among the dignitaries present were Rakesh Gupta, Joint Commissioner Revenue, Sanjay Badyal, Deputy Commissioner North Zone Jammu, Ashwani Soodan, Private Secretary to Mayor Jammu, Raj Daluja, Chairman JK Educational Society, Shashi Chaudhary, Director JK Educational Society, Rajesh Rathore, Principal JK Public School and Roopinder Kaur, Vice Principal, JKPS Kunjwani.
After the welcome and felicitation of the Chief Guest, the school song was sung. The Principal JKPS Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore in his address reinforced the earnest need of hour to stop the use of plastic with immediate effect.
He said, “There should be less consumption of polythene which has been working as a slow poison and choking the earth”.
He further added, “One person alone cannot do anything. Unless it becomes a mass movement, nothing can be achieved”.
He appreciated Mayor Jammu Rajinder Sharma and Team JMC for launching the anti-polythene drive and causing the mass awakening on war footings.
There were beautiful presentations by students highlighting anti-polythene maxim and Swacchata by Seva.
Chief Guest, Rakesh Gupta in his speech talked about the need for stake holders to join the anti-polythene campaign of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
He talked about the hazardous consequences of plastic waste and how we can contribute in making the planet Earth the cleanest place to live. He made all aware about the degradation of human life due to plastic and suggested that we should join the crusade of anti-plastic drive.
He said that plastic pollution has grown as an epidemic, so stringent measures should be taken to redress the situation.
He invited the students to take part in walkathons from Parade to Hari Singh Club Jammu on May 29, 2023 and help generate awareness.
Certificates of appreciation were given to all the participating students. Roopinder Kaur, Vice Principal, in her vote of thanks, lauded everybody for such an enriching session.
