Indian team leaves for CAVA Women Challenger Cup

JAMMU: Indian Senior Women’s Volleyball Team left to participate in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women Challenger Cup to be held at Kathmandu, Nepal from May 22 to 28, 2023. The Cup is being conducted by Nepal Volleyball Association under the auspices of the CAVA and Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). India and Nepal will face each other once again, this time in the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup featuring eight teams from Central Asia. India and Nepal are in Group ‘A’, alongside Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan. Meanwhile, Group ‘B’ includes Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Kazakhstan. Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Member of Parliament & President, Volleyball Federation of India has declared the team members for the event. He sent-off the team and wished them all the very best for the medal winning performance in the event.
TEAM: Nirmal (Captain) (Railway), Prerona (West Bengal), Maya Thomas (Kerala), S. Shalini (Railway), K.P. Anushree (Kerala), Johnson Jincy (Railway), Soorya S (Kerala), Ashwani K (Railway), Shilpa R.S (Kerala), Angel Joseph (Railway), K.S Jini (Kerala), Hemlata (Himachal) , R. Aswathi (L) (Kerala), and Das Anannaya (L) (Railway). Officials: Sudhansu Bhusan Mishra (Manager), Pritam Singh Chauhan (Head Coach) and Vaishali Phadtare (Assistant Coach). Meanwhile, Chief Patron Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja, President, Sidharth Daluja besides other office bearers also wished Indian team best of luck for the championship.
