One Nation One Ration Card was announced by the Union Minister of Food and Public Distribution. The scheme of one country one ration card is such that under this, a citizen of the country resides in any area, through his ration card, he can take his share of ration from the PDS ration shop in any state of the country.
Under this scheme, the people of the country are free to give their ration from the PDS ration shop of any state. Through this scheme, all the citizens are getting huge benefits.
The scheme of one nation one ration card was launched in India on 1 June 2020. Along with this, the facility of POS machine has also been started in 14 states for the convenience of ration card. In order to run the scheme of one country one ration card smoothly, the government needed to install POS at every PDS shop. In June 2019, Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan had given a time of up to 1 year to issue One Nation One Ration Card scheme in each state.
There are two types of ration cards issued by the state government to the citizens. First APL Ration Card and second BPL Ration Card. Both of these are issued on the basis of the income of the citizen. Similarly, the selection process of One Country One Ration Card will also be done accordingly.
APL Ration Card, under this comes the citizens who are living their lives above the poverty line. People who are financially capable are given APL ration card.
BPL ration card, living under it is said to be those who live their life below the poverty line. People who are not financially capable are given BPL card ration.
Under the scheme of one ration one ration card, your ration card will work just like a mobile number. Just as you do not have to change your mobile number by going to another state, similarly you can activate your ration card in any state. The benefit of One Nation One Ration Card scheme is available to all those citizens who get the facility of ration card.
