Vipul Dayal Memorial Volleyball Championship culminates at JKPS Kunjwani

JAMMU: A two-day Vipul Dayal Memorial Inter-School Volleyball Championship came to an end on Friday in a tough match between the teams of JK Public School Kunjwani and MV International School Samba. There was witnessed a high degree of zeal and gusto among the players as the two teams fought well for the coveted Championship Trophy.
Mother of late Vipul Dayal, Sangeeta Sharma made a WhatsApp video call from New Zealand to greet the students and boost their morale on the culmination of Volleyball Championship in the premises of JKPS Kunjwani.
The Chief Guest present on the occasion was Sukhdev Sharma, District Sports Officer, District Youth Services and Sports J&K. The Guests of Honour were Kuldeep Magotra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Volleyball Association of J&K and Associate Secretary of Volleyball Federation of India; Former DSP HS Gill, Executive Vice President, Volleyball Association of J&K; V.K Magotra, General Secretary Volleyball Association of J&K and KL Dogra, Principal MV International School and Secretary (Finance) Jammu Sahodaya.
After the welcome address, the host school Principal Rajesh Rathore, in his speech greeted the two teams, congratulated them for entering the finals and inspired them to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the session.
Both the teams did their best and one could hear cheers and clapping all around as smashers kept smashing the ball swiftly all around. It was a delight to watch the teams striving hard for the win.
Later in the benign presence of the guests, medals and certificates were distributed among the teams – the winners and the runners up. In all, six teams participated in this championship.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Sukhdev Sharma motivated the students to maintain physical fitness, as sports have been an integral part of the school activities.
He complimented JKPS Kunjwani for organizing the event in the memory of their alumni Vipul Dayal, who was not only a wonderful Volleyball player but also an all rounder in the field of games and sports. He was all praises for the two teams, who had fought tooth and nail on the last day.
After the felicitation of coaches, the vote of thanks was delivered by Inderjeet Kaur, School Coordinator, who heartily thanked one and all for making the event a grand success. The event reached the culmination point with the soulful singing of the National anthem.
