AKHNOOR : An educational-cum-motivational tour for children hailing from remote and border areas of Akhnoor Sub Division was on Monday flagged off by Army’s Bawan Brigade from Pallanwala here.
The group was flagged off by the Commander of the Brigade, which will visit Dehradun and Mussorie in Uttarakhand. During the course of the tour, the children will get an opportunity to visit various places of interest in Dehradun and surrounding areas of Mussorie and Haridwar. Prominent location that will be visited are Raj Bhawan, Indian Military Academy (IMA), Forest Research Institute (FRI), RIMC Dehradun, Survey of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration Mussorie as also Assan Barrage, Malsi Deer Park, Gun Hills, Lachhiwala and Kampti Falls.
The tour organised by the army will provide an opportunity to educate the children about historical, cultural and educational heritage of the country and to interact with the people from rest of the country and build bridges of friendship and to grow becoming a responsible citizen.
