Major crackdown: 2,692 bovines rescued, 79 vehicles seized at Ramban

Ramban: Proving that there is nothing hard for Police and it can do anything but only if desire, Ramban police, in a major crackdown over bovine smuggling, has rescued 2,692 bovines under Operation ‘Kamdhenu’, registered 84 FIRs and seized 79 vehicles within a short span of time. As per detail, during past few days, acting on specific inputs regarding transportation of bovines, different parties of Police Stations Batote, Chanderkote, Ramban, Ramsoo, Banihal, Dharamkund, and Gool intercepted 79 vehicles and even intercepted some persons taking bovines by foot, on their way from Jammu towards Srinagar.

Police can do anything, if desire

After checking of vehicles, it was found that 2,692 bovines were loaded with utmost cruelty and without any arrangement of food and water. These bovines were being transported to the valley in contravention of permission of competent authority and otherwise. The Police, in total, rescued 2692 bovine animals under the operation ‘Kamdhenu’. In this regard, 17 FIRs at Police Station Batote, 12 FIRs at Police Station Chanderkote, 34 FIRs at Police Station Ramban, 2 FIRs at Police Station Ramsoo, 14 FIRs at Police Station Banihal, 4 FIRs at Police Station Gool and 1 FIR at Police Station Dharamkund, under Sections 188 of IPC, 11 of PC Act, were registered and further investigation started. The overall rescue operation was made by police parties under the command of Insp Rajesh Khajuria SHO Batote, Insp P D Singh SHO Chanderkote, Insp Anil Choudhary SHO Ramban, Insp Naeemul Haq, Insp Afzal Wani SHO Banihal, Insp Manoj Kumar SHO Dharamkund and Insp Nazir Ahmad SHO Gool, under supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen DySP Hqrs Ramban, Nissar Ahmad Khoja SDPO Banihal and Nihar Ranjan SDPO Gool with overall supervision of SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
