Justice Atul Sreedharan appointed as Judge J&K High Court

JAMMU: President of India, Droupadi Murmu has appointed Justice Atul Sreedharan as J&K High Court Judge as the collegium has recommended his transfer from Madhya Pradesh High Court. With the appointment of Justice Atul Sreedharan, the strength of J&K High Court has raised to 16 including Chief Justice.
Justice Sreedharan, born on May 24, 1966, joined the Chamber of Gopal Subramanium, senior Advocate in 1992 at Delhi and remained there till 1997. During this period, he assisted him in several Civil and Criminal matters before the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi and Trial Court at Delhi. From 1997 to December 2000, he practiced independently at Delhi. He shifted to Indore in 2001 and practed independently and continuously before the Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court. He has also reamained closely associated with Satyendra Kumar Vyas, Senior Advocate at Indore. He have also, independently handled criminal and a few civil cases before the Trial Court and High Court, service matters and writ petitions before the High Court and also cases medical negligence before the consumer forums. He remained on the panel of the Madhya Pradesh Housing Board from 04/10/02 to 2012. He represented the State of Madhya Pradesh as Panel Advocate before the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Bench at Indore from 2001 to 2003. He also represented the State of Madhya Pradesh as a Government Advocate before the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Bench at Indore, from October 2003 to February 2004. He got appointed as Central Government Counsel on September 19, 2005 to appear in cases on behalf of the Union of India till September 19, 2008. He got appointed as Central Government Counsel (Senior Panel) on February 19, 2010 to appear in cases on behalf of the Union of India till February 19, 2013 and thereafter was appointed as Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on April 7th, 2016 and Permanent Judge on March 17, 2018.
