DC Jammu conducts extensive tour of Bishnah, listens to public grievances

JAMMU: To get first-hand account of the public grievances, Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa on Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of the Bishnah area and listened to issues of locals.
BDC members, PRIs, public delegations besides scores of individuals apprised her about the problems being faced by them in day to day life
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated rejuvenation work of a pond under Amrit Sarovar Program at village Majua Luxmi panchayat Khojipur being executed by RDD with an estimate of Rs 2.14 lakh.
Afterwards, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated a cricket tournament followed by prize distribution among the winning Teams.
The Deputy Commissioner also planted a sampling during a plantation drive by the Forest department.
During the grievance redressal camp at Panchayat Khojipur, the sarpanch apprised the DC regarding major issues including link road to local playground, development of local pond, up-gradation of Local Government High School to Higher secondary level, drinking water supply under JJM scheme etc.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the PRI member and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for quality redress of their genuine grievances.
She assured that the highlighted issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities besides all the pendency and public service delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.
She directed the officers to leave no stone unturned in order to provide maximum benefits to the people of welfare schemes started by the government.
The Deputy Commissioner also impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the targets ensuring the delivery of the benefits to the rural masses.
Chairman BDC Surjeet Kumar Bhagat, Sarpanch Rajesh Kumar Sharma, SDM Atul Dutt Sharma, Tehsildar Bhawani Attri, BDO Rupali Mahajan were also present on the occasion.
