Borderline Club Pallanwala, Trikuta Club Jammu win Volleyball titles

AKHNOOR: Borderline Club Pallanwala won men’s and Trikuta Club Jammu women’s trophies of the volleyball tournament organized by Range Police Headquarters Jammu under Civic Action Programme in the memory of Shaheed DySP Gulbadan Singh Bhau at Govt. Degree College Jourian, Akhnoor.
In women final, Trikuta Club Jammu beat Army Children Club by 2-0 while Borderline Club Pallanwala defeated Porgo Volleyball Club Pargwal by 2-1 in men’s final.
Earlier in men semifinals, Porgo Volleyball Club, Pargwal beat Ramgarh Warriors by 2-1 and Borderline Volleyball Club Pallanwala beat Volleyball Club Dewal Billawar by 2-0. In all, 16 teams of men and three teams of women from various places of District Jammu, Samba and Kathua participated in the tournament.
Staff officer to DIG Jammu, Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP and CAP RPHQ Jammu team members welcomed the Chief Guest DIG Jammu Shakti Kumar Pathak and Special guests Dr. Sushma Chib, wife of Shaheed DySP Gulbadan Singh, Neha Rajput, BDC Chairperson Bhalwal Brahmana, Suraj Singh Bhau, DDC Vice Chairman, DDC Member Bhushan Bral and Principal Govt Degree College, Jourian Anuradha Pandoh.
DySP Jatinder Singh, DySP Raman Kumar, Insp. Anjoo Pandita, Sub Insp. Suresh Kumar, ASI Tarsem Lal, Sgct Pardeep Kumar and Sgct Narinder Sharma tied badges to dignitaries. Pathak said that such type of events may strengthen the police and public relations and youths should take more part in sports activities and stay away from drugs.
Shakti Kumar Pathak, Rajinder Katoch and Dr. Sushma Chib felicitated the winner as well as runner-up teams with trophies, medals, certificates and Cash prize of Rs. 15000 to winning team and Cash prize of Rs. 8000 to runner up team for men final match and cash prize of Rs. 7500 to winner team and Rs. 4000 to runner up team for women final match. SP Rural Jammu Rahul Charak, SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal, SHO Akhnoor Harjeet Singh and Incharge Police Post Karnail Singh were also present. Team CAP RPHQ Jammu Insp. Anju Pandita (Supervisory Officer), Sanjeev Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Tarsem Lal, Jasvir Singh, Sudesh Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Narinder Sharma, Shashi Kumar, Sabar Hussain and Jit Kumar were also present for smooth functioning of the event.
