Kingpin behind 11 years old boy’s kidnapping arrested

SAMBA: Samba Police on Thursday nabbed a kingpin, who was wanted case regarding kidnapping of 11 years old boy.
Giving details, Additional SP Samba, Aijaz Zargar said that on May 6, 2019, a complainant namely Joginder Pal Sharma, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Dasal, Meen Sarkar Tehsil Bari Brahmana, District Samba lodged a verbal report at Police Station Bari Brahmana that his son, Anirudh Sadhotra age about 10-11 years, a student of class 5 was kidnapped by some unknown persons in a red-coloured car when his son de-boarded from school bus and was on way back to home.
The kidnappers demanded ransom for release of kidnapped child. On this, a case vide FIR No.61/2019 under Sections 364, 387, 147, 120-B, 347 of RPC and 3/25-A, 4/6 of POCSO Act was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation was taken up. During the course of investigation, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted under supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana to work out the case. With strenuous efforts coupled with technical assistance under close supervision of SSP Samba Rajesh Sharma, the kidnapped child was recovered and six accused persons were arrested. The two vehicles and one Scooty used in commission of crime were also seized, but the Mastermind/Kingpin of kidnapping namely Sanjay Kumar Raina, son of Bassi, resident of Gundna District Doda, at present Jallo Chack Tehsil and District Jammu was absconding.

During investigation, it was found that conspiracy to kidnap the young boy was done by all accused persons and Kingpin of this extortionist module was Sanjay Kumar Raina. Based on evidence collected, charge-sheet was filed in Court of law against six accused persons in custody whereas one was absconding and Court issued warrant under Section 512 CrPC against him.
The person remained at large and was not found till now. However, SDPO Bari Brahmana Mohita Sharma under guidance and supervision of SSP Samba constituted special teams which carried multiple raids at many places.
Taking help of both human and technical intelligence, SDPO Bari Brahmana and her team was able to locate culprit in Daramshala, Himachal Pradesh. The culprit was arrested with help of Himachal Police. The culprit was staying there in disguise. An Ertiga car and many fake cards, a lighter-like article used by culprit as Pistol was also recovered from his possession at time of arrest.
Keeping in view sensitivity of case, a look-out notice has already been issued by Samba Police on May 29, 2019 wherein cash reward of Rs 25,000 was announced for giving any clue/information about accused Sanjay Raina. The interrogation of accused is going on and many disclosures are expected about his involvement in many intrastate and inter-state extortionist modules.
