JAMMU: The 16th chapter of the renowned International Conference on Information Systems Security was successfully concluded virtually on Saturday.
The key highlight remained to be IIT Jammu’s virtual organization of a prestigious conference like ICISS on Airmeet from December 16th to 19th. The conference was streamed live and the recordings have been made available on the institute’s official YouTube handle so that students from around the world can stream it anytime and anywhere.
The conference was chaired by the Director of IIT Jammu, Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur.
The organizing team included; Dr. Yamuna Prasad and Dr. Harkeerat Kaur from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering along with a strong support of student volunteers.
The conference couldn’t be successful without the efforts of Prof. R.K Shyamsundar, Prof. Virendra Singh, Dr. Vishwas Patil from IIT Bombay, Prof. Shamik Sural from IIT Kharagpur and Prof. Salil Kanhere from UNSW Sydney.

ICISS 2020 began with a special lecture on “Timed Data Release Mechanisms using Smart Contracts and Blockchain Basics” which was splendidly delivered by the experts from University of Pittsburgh and Beijing Jiaotong University. During the conference,16 research papers were presentedon several significant information security topics such as, Access Control, Information Forensics, Privacy and Web Security, Systems Security, Cryptography, AI/ML in Security. The Best Practice Paper Award sponsored by Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) was bestowed upon Simone Pirocca (University of Trento, Italy), Luca Allodi and Nicola Zannone (Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands) who were given a cash prize of Rs. 15,000/- for their paper, “A Toolkit for Security Awareness Training against Targeted Phishing”.
