Hails LG Sinha for identifying 75 tourist destinations in UT

JAMMU: Hailing Jammu and Kashmir Administration for identifying seventy-five offbeat tourist destinations, including Nathatop, Basohli and Machail for tourism promotion, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday said the Narendra Modi government has transformed the Union Territory from “terrorism capital” to “tourism capital”.
“Narendra Modi led Central Government is committed to wipe out terrorism and ensure equitable development of both regions of Jammu and Kashmir. This is our dream and we will continue our efforts till we achieve this,” Chugh said.
“The tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir has got a boost after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35(A) on August 05, 2019,” he said adding that after Independence, the tourism footfall in Jammu and Kashmir has seen a record surge.
In the past few years, rapid strides have been made in the tourism sector for the development of the region and its people, he added. Tarun Chugh, who is also BJP incharge for Jammu and Kashmir, said that the Centre has taken path breaking initiatives and made significant strides to ensure holistic development and upgrading the infrastructural facilities to attract large number of tourists in this part of the country. He said all these measures have given big fillip to the tourism sector in the recent years.
Tarun Chugh complimented Prime minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for identifying 75 new tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir.
