Protest of Lawyers Action Committee continues unabated

JAMMU: The agitation of lawyers practicing in Jammu wing of J&K High Court and Subordinate Courts entered 55th day on Wednesday. The Lawyers held Dharna in Janipura Courts complex in support of their demands. The lawyers Action Committee has been carrying ahead agitation since 15 October 2020 in protest against continued closure of their entry into High Court completely and partially in Subordinate Courts besides no entry of public since March end this year and on few other issues.
The 8-point demand charter of lawyers included, opening of all courts for physical entry to lawyers and public, resume physical hearing, accepting hard copies of cases, opening locked Bar Rooms of lawyers, providing stamp papers and tickets within court premises through stamp vendors, immediate opening of Consumer Courts, shifting back Registry of Documents to Judicial Officers, withdrawing contempt initiated against some lawyers and Holding immediate election to the J&K Bar Council.
Those present in the protest included O P Sharma, J A Kazmi (former Vice President Jammu Bar), M P Gupta (former Secretary Jammu Bar), H C Jalmeria Convener of Action Committee, C S Gupta (Former Secretary Jammu Bar), Vinod Abrol, Rajinder Kumar, B R Chandan, B R Sharma (Former Vice President Jammu Bar), M Usman Slaria (former Vice President Jammu Bar), Shah Mohd Choudhary, Subodh Singh Jamwal, Kulbir Singh Jasrotia, Manohar Gupta, Bansi Lal Sharma, Ashok Misra, A K Gandotra, Vimal Kumar, Lalit Kumar Moza, Ashok Kumar Basotra, S C Sharma, R S Durswal, Vilakshan Singh, Anmol Sharma, Ramesh Salhotra, S K Rao, Mohd Rashid, Ghara Ram, Jatinder Singh, Kunal Singh Chib, Mulkh Raj, Manohar Anthal, S M Wajahat, Rakesh Kumar, Mudassar Yousuf, Atul Raina and Rakmesh Parihar.
