JAMMU: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri on Wednesday urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to make amendments in the SRO-520, adding that SRO 520 needs some amendments including provision of wages of need base, casual and seasonal laborers who have been included and uploaded through biometric identification in 61,000 workers list but not being paid against any wages head in routine, allotment of proper scale while their conversion in regular cadre, need based workers who are in the list but not paid even single time be paid like other workers by making their budgetary provision against wages head. Interacting with media persons here, Shastri said that proper amendments in SRO 520 should be incorporated so that cumbersome verification process should not be a cause of inconvenience for these daily rated workers adding that the need of the hour is that the state Govt. should set the process in motions to avoid any further delay and the high ups of the State Govt. should be asked to accelerate the process so as to avoid confusion if any arising in the mid of likely beneficiaries He appealed to reconsider the policy and release the pending wages of need based and other workers immediately. Stressing the need for enhancing Medical Allowance for State pensioners on the analogy of Central Government pattern, Shastri, also urged Mehbooba Mufti to follow the suit so that pensioners are compensated to defray the day to day medical expenses till the demand of State employees and pensioners to enhance the same to Rs 3000 per month is met with. Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S. Jamwal, Jaipal Sharma, Ram Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Swarn Bhagat, Subash Sharma, Tarsem, Suraj Parkash, Sukhdev Singh, Tarseem Sharma, Tilak Raj and Girdhari Lal were also present.
