Govt should declare holiday on Labour Day: NHR SJC

JAMMU: National Human Rights (Social Justice Council) (NHR SJC) State Unit celebrated the International Labour Day for the implementation of Labour Laws and their Rehabilitation Policy
Talking to reporters here, Anil Padha Chief Secretary General NHR SJC asked government to declare holiday on May 1, make separate labour commission for the implementation of social welfare and rehabilitation polices, declare Technical Education sector/skill development programme as thrust area in the Welfare Scheme and stop the child labour exploitation and construct a labour colony in every districts.
He also urged government to establish Technical University in J&K and regularize all 64,000 daily wagers/casual labour workers in all departments.
He also laid emphasis on the dignity of labour and lauded the efforts of the Prime Minister for his initiatives regarding Skill Development Programme.
The Chief Guest, Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister congratulated the volunteers of NHR SJC for their valuable services and extended good wishes to the labour community.
D.N Trissal highlighted the efforts of the government in mitigating the difficulties of the labour class.
M.I Zargar Executive Director NHR SJC committed for the cause of labour welfare and cautioned the general public regarding the exploitation of labour class.
