JAMMU: National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) State unit on Tuesday staged protest against the statement given by BJP MLA and newly inducted Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta regarding Rassana case stating “It was a small issue and we gave undue importance to that case.” NSUI strongly condemned his statement and demanded immediate resignation and apology from him.
Led by NSUI General Secretary, Avijot Singh, the activists assembled infront of University of Jammu and raised slogans against the BJP Government.
Talking to reporters, Singh said that the remarks of Kavinder Gupta showed BJP’s concern for the safety of women in India and particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. “BJP Government totally failed to deliver at every account and now their ministers are giving such statements which show their mentality,” he added.
Vishal Kotwal, NSUI Jammu University President demanded his resignation and requested BJP High Command to remove such ministers from the Cabinet.
“NSUI always stand against injustice and will not tolerate any such statement from a man who is holding a responsible chair in the government,” Kotwal warned.
