POONCH/REASI: Three persons, including a woman, died while three others got injured on Tuesday in two separate road accidents in Poonch and Reasi districts, police said.
As per details, a private car (JK02AB-4075) skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Katarmal, near Manjakote in Poonch, resulting in on-the-spot death of a 47-year-old woman, a police official said. The woman’s husband and brother-in-law were also injured in the accident and were evacuated to hospital, he said, adding they were travelling from Mendhar to Jammu when the incident took place. The deceased woman has been identified as Parveen Akhter, while her husband Mohd Yunus and brother-in-law, Sajjad Ahmed, all residents of Kalaban, Mendhar are presently under treatment.
In another incident, two people were killed and a minor girl got injured when a Rajouri-bound mini-bus (JK02W-8912) turned turtle near zero ‘morh’ in Gota area of Reasi. The deceased were identified as Sanjeev Singh (driver), son of Mohan Singh, resident of Chassana and Liaquat Hussain (conductor), son of Kag Hussain, resident of Kalaban. The injured girl was hospitalised, the official added.
