RAJOURI: Authorities in Rajouri detained a person under Public Safety Act (PSA) for his attempts to instigate people in Nowshera and also issuing provocative statements aimed at challenging the territorial integrity of the country which can deteriorate public order and overall law and order situation in the district.
Order for detention of the said person was issued today by District Magistrate Rajouri on the recommendations of a dossier submitted by SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas. The said person stands detained in District Jail Dhangri under PSA warrant executed by Inspr Tahir Yousaf SHO PS Rajouri.
The man detained under PSA has been identified as Devinder Singh Behal son of Attar Singh Behal resident of Nonial Nowshera.
Pertinent to mention here that, last year also the person was detained by NIA in connection with Hawala transactions into alleged terrorist activities. He has been lodged in District Jail Dhangri.
Rajouri police in coordination with civil administration reiterates it’s commitment of maintenance of peace and order in the district and taking action against people who can lead to law and order problem.
