Trucker nabbed with 82 kg poppy straw

SURANKOTE: Police on Monday arrested a trucker and seized 82 kg poppy straw from the vehicle he was driving.
As per the report, a police party led by SHO Surankote Inspector Anzir Mir and In-Charge Police Post Behramgalla SI Sukhvir Singh under the supervision of DYSP Surankote Mohd Riaz and ASP Anwar ul Haq laid a Naka at Behramgalla on Mughal Road.
During the checking and frisking, three bags of poppy straw weighing about 82 kg were recovered from one truck (HR55R/3756 ) which was on its way from Kashmir via Mughal Road. The driver of the vehicle namely Parath Singh son of Amrik Singh resident of Jabbowal Distt. Amritsar Punjab was arrested and case vide FIR NO.36/2018 under section 8/15 of NDPS ACT was registered against the accused person at Police Station Surankote.
