Lawyers Annual Sports Meet 2018 concludes

JAMMU: Legal A Star won the title trophy of cricket event in the Lawyers Annual Sports Meet 2018 organised by Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association at Jammu University Ground, here on Sunday.
In the final, Legal ‘A’ Star outplayed Paradise XI by eight wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Paradise XI scored 84 runs in 20 overs. Rahul and Vikas were the top scorers with 13 runs each while Ravi Dogra remained unbeaten on 10. For Legal ‘A’ Star, Sherhoz picked three wickets while Sanjay grabbed two and A.P Singh, Irfan and Sami Ullah shared apiece each. In reply Legal ‘A’ Star chased the target in 11 overs for the loss of two wickets. Surinder Singh played a fine inning of 35 runs while A.P Singh made 23 and Pranav Kohli added 12 to the total. Guru Partap and Ishan shared one wicket each for Paradise XI.
Today’s match was officiated by Kuldeep and Kapil as Umpires and Ashok Singh and Ajay Patyal as scorers.
In the valedictory function, Acting Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Ramalingam Sudhakar was the Chief Guest and Justice Alok Ardhe, Justice Sanjeev Kumar and Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu, Prof R.D. Sharma were the Guests of Honour. Speaking on the occasion, the Acting Chief Justice said that the sports are required in today’s life to distress the life. He further said that Bar should take efforts to arrange such like meets in the feature also.
He appreciated the role of Bar Association, Jammu particularly the Organising Committee to organise such like sports activities. President of the Bar Association, Jammu, Senior Advocate B.S Slathia said that Bar has been organising the sports activities since last 10 years.
He further stated that the regular sports activities desperately required today’s life, in all kind of profession and services physical fitness is off paramount consideration.
Sachin Gupta, Vice President of the Bar, presented the vote of thanks and stated that it is only sports activities which can bridge a gap, helps in developing individuals and also helps us to understand the team spirit.
He further stated that sports activities keep the person mentally alert and fit.
The General Secretary of the Bar Association Jammu, Prem Sadotra, while conducting the proceedings of the function, said that the teams from different Bar throughout Jammu province besides team from High Court participated in this annual sports meet.
General Secretary hailed the role of Chairman of the Sports Committee Suresh Chander Sharma and his team in organsing the annual sports meet.
Player of the Tournament award went to Azhar Usman Khan, Best Bowler of the tournament to Sherhoz, Best Batsman of the tournament to Semi Ullha, Man of the Match of the final match to Sanjay Sharma, Best athlete in men category to Bawa Ditta and best athlete in women category went to Sneha Sharma. Maveric team led by Captain Bawa Ditta won the volleyball title.
Others present on the occasion were U.K Jalali (Senior Advocate and former Advocate General), Rajesh Kotwal, Ajay Sharma, Vinod Bakshi, Ajay Abrol, Kulbushan Salgotra, Rupinder Singh, D.S Chouhan, Ranjit Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Babu Ram, Ajay Singh Manhas, Ravi Dorga, Rajesh Jaitly, B.D Manhotra, A.P Singh, Vishal Sharma, Parimoksh Seth, Pranav Kohli, Abhishek Wazir, Sachin Dogra, Deepak Billoria, Anil Khajuria, Umesh Sharma, Ashwani Khajuria, Surinder Khajuria, Gourav Jamwal, Surjeet Mandeep Singh, Vikram Rathore, Andotra, Jyoti Misra, Jyoti Sharma, Jyoti Majotra, Kamal Mongtra, Divya Ishan and Pardeep Majotra.
