BSF Jammu wins in hockey

JAMMU: Border Security Force (BSF) Jammu made it a big 7-4 win against Hiranagar Club in the ongoing State Hockey Championship, organised by Hockey J&K at KK Hakku Stadium, here on Saturday.
In other scheduled matches, district Poonch trounced Jammu Central 4-2 while BSF (Kashmir) outplayed district Baramulla 4-1.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel including Joginder Singh, Angat Singh, Tajinder Singh, Ranjit Singh, Harvinder Singh, Rohit Sharma, Bavneet Singh, Gurdeep Singh Sangral, P.P Singh and Iqbal Singh.
Joint Secretary of Hockey J&K, Raja Ghulam Nabi Wani was the Chief Guest who encouraged the participants with his motivated speech.
Wani said, “Hockey is a proud for our country” and wished to improve the hockey game.
He appealed to youth to involve themselves in hockey for a healthy living, so that the sports talent could be developed in a better way and could rule over the world.
Prominent members of the Hockey J&K present on the occasion included Jaswinder Singh Kuku, Shuja Ahmed, Gurdeep Singh and H.S Bakshi.
