Principal suspended, salaries of 18 teachers withheld

KISHTWAR: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana on Saturday placed Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Sounder, Vidya Dhar under suspension, who has not joined his duties after the winter vacations. The action comes after receiving several complaints from the residents.
“CEO Kishtwar is hereby designated as enquiry officer who shall conduct an in-depth enquiry into the matter and shall submit the report to this office by or before 10th of April 2018”, the order of DDC reads.
Meanwhile, DDC Kishtwar directed Chief Education Officer Kishtwar to withhold the salaries of 18 teachers, who have been found absent from their duties without any valid reason.
“It has come to the notice that the teaching staff of HS Keshwan, MS Nagri and MS Bhagran Hill was un-authorisely absent from duties on March 30, 2018 and 31-03-2018 respectively and had left the students of the school at the mercy of God”, the order of CEO Kishtwar reads.
Taking cognizance of DDC’s directions as the DDC has received several phone calls regarding the absenteeism of teaching staff in these government schools ,the Chief Education Officer Kishtwar, ordered the withholding of their salaries under order number CEO /K /2018/16857-64 and dated 31-03-2018 with immediate effect.
The teachers found absent included Gh.Mohd Kripak , Shafiqa Banoo, Beni Parshad , Shahnawaz and Rafiya Kulsum of HS Keshwan, Satwir Sharma, Naresh Kumar , Amarjeet Singh, Dalbir Singh,Mansoor Ahmed, Shafiya Banoo,Nazia Banoo, Irshad Ahmed Kripak,Meena Kumari of MS Nagri ,Mohd Shafi, Poonam Bloria, Shafia Kousar, Nirdosh Kant of MS Bhagran Hill.
“In view of the unauthorized absence of the officials from their legitimate duty, salary of these officials has been ordered to be kept withheld with immediate effect and besides all of the absentee trachers have been directed to explain the reason of absence with in three days , failing which action warranted under rules shall be initiated against them,” Chief Education Officer Kishtwar ,Ajeet Kumar said.
