Jugal, Vibodh lay foundation of eight road projects

RAJOURI: Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma and Member Legislative Council Vibodh Gupta on Friday laid foundation stones for eight road projects of 43.18 KM length under phase X of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana online.
Being constructed with an estimated expenditure of Rs 28.33 crore, these road projects inter alia include 3 KM Khadarian-Kha, 5.7 KM L034 KM 1st-Narota, 6 KM Chanassar Gala-Kallar, 6.3 KM T01 KM 7th-Udharni, 5 KM Treru-Chakmethyani, 4.5 KM T01 KM 13th-Thus, 6.3 KM Broh-Narsingpora and 6.4 KM Chakmethyani-Kotecharwal Roads. The MP and the MLC also e-inaugurated 1.9 KM Dhalyote-Dhanesh Road which has been completed with Rs 1.38 crore.
The MP asked the officials to ensure the work on these vital projects is executed in a smooth and hassle-free manner. He said that planning, construction, up-gradation and maintenance of roads, bridges and buildings must be the prime concern of the department. He impressed upon the concerned officers to strictly adhere to the set deadlines for completion of these works.
Jugal Kishore said these new road projects, mostly connecting the rural belts of the district with main roads, once completed will usher new era of development in these cut off areas.
Vibodh, while speaking on the occasion, said PMGSY was launched with declared aim to reverse the prevalent trend of Rural to Urban Migration by road infrastructure in rural areas at par with town and cities.
Among others present on the occasion were Executive Engineer PMGSY Mushtaq Raina, Field Functionaries of PMGSY Division, senior Officers of District Administration and representatives of civil society.
