Plus two lecturers call on Bukhari, raise demands

JAMMU: A delegation of All J and K Plus Two PSC Lecturers’ Association met Minister for Education, Altaf Bukhari and apprised him of the problems being faced by the lecturers fraternity.
The direct recruited lecturers said that there is stagnation in the department which causes discomfort to the entire community as lecturer is bound to work on the same pay scale for more than twenty years so their long pending demand of running grade pattern must be implemented in favour of plus two lecturers. They appealed to Education Minister to intervene as the file is lying in the Finance Department for further process.
Taking cognizance of the demands of lecturers’ community, Bukhari took up the matter with the Finance Minister and emphasized for resolving their problems.
The delegation also demanded restoration of 40 per cent quota for higher education, placement of lecturers, change of pay band two to three and implementation of government order No 743, etc.
The delegation comprised of Mansoor Ahmed Khan, Riyaz Ahmed Sohil, Farooq Ahmed Bhat, Dr Ajay Singh, Pershotum, Irfan Ahmed, Brij Nandan, Swarm Singh and Arvinder Kour.
