Nanda assures improved amenities in Reasi town

REASI: Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda on Friday said that government is working hard to upgrade basic amenities in urban and rural areas of the State and in this regard several micro and macro level projects are under way to provide enhanced facilities including better sanitation.
The minister was speaking to locals after laying the foundation stone for construction of two lanes and drains at wards No-5 and 12 in Reasi town.
The minister said the government is endeavouring to afoot basic services in every part of the State besides laying thrust on extending more accountable, responsive and transparent administration to the people.
He further said this will not only ensure effective implementation of developmental initiatives but will also encourage the authorities to work hard and achieve fixed targets well in time.
The minister instructed the officers of Municipal Committee Reasi to encourage the local people for constructing toilets in their homes for which government is also giving financial assistance. He said people should launch a campaign to eradicate improper garbage dumping practices.
Meanwhile, locals appreciated the lanes and drains work being executed in Reasi town besides demanding new works for left out areas of the town. The minister assured the people that their demands would be looked into for necessary action.
Later, the minister also took round of the town and inspected the ongoing works of public utilities mainly those at completion stage.
