JAMMU: Two-day J&K State Taekwondo Championship organised by Taekwondo Association of Jammu and Kashmir (TAJK) concluded at MA Stadium, here on Wednesday with prize distribution ceremony.
“After the final round of event in which 245 players participated, a total of 45 participants comprising 18 girls and 27 boys are selected who will participate in the 37th National Taekwondo Championship being organised by Taekwondo Federation of India, Lucknow from January 8 to 10 at Kolkata,” BJP State Additional Treasurer and President TAJK, Arvind Gupta said.
In the closing ceremony, BJP State General Secretary Harinder Gupta was the Chief Guest who wished good luck to the winners of the event for the national championship.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very particular to nurture the sports talent of the youth of the nation as it helps in giving right direction to the young minds of the country.
While wishing them good luck, Arvind repeated the commitment of Association, that if State team is able to win the national event, then the National Championship will be organised in the State the very next time.
Satish Gupta, Sports Officer, Karan Chopra General Secretary TAJK, Karan Chopra State Secretary and Gourav Arora were also present.
