DDC Poonch holds public grievances redress camp

POONCH: District Development Commissioner, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, on Wednesday held a public grievances redressal camp at Guntrian and took stock of public issues.

DDC was accompanied by Executive Engineers R&B and PDD, AEEs PHE, PMGSY and Irrigation and Flood Control, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Panchayat Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Tehsildar Haveli and officers of other departments.

The locals raised a number of issues including better road connectivity, compensation for the land acquired for road projects, aadhar enrolment of handicapped people who have lost their hands and legs due to land mine blasts, upgradation of High School to Higher Secondary School, adequate staff and medicines in health institutions etc.

People also raised issue of providing ambulance and concrete bunkers for areas along LoC.

While speaking on the occasion, DDC assured that possibilities would be explored to provide concrete bunkers and bullet proof ambulance alongwith solar lights in remote border belts of Guntaria, Shahpur, Qasaba.

DDC directed the executive engineers of PWD&PMGSY to speed up construction of incomplete roads whereas revenue authorities were directed to process the case of pending land compensation cases.

He asked the CMO to take up the issue of filling up of vacancies by rationalization of staff and assured that issues of Aadhar enrolment of handicapped  person will be taken up with  the concerned agencies.
