SAMBA: Ghagwal Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing five bovines, however smuggler managed to escape from the spot.
According to a report, on a reliable information, SHO Ghagwal SI Rajeshwar Singh along with his team laid a Naka on Jammu Pathankot National Highway near Tapyal and signalled a truck (HP57- 1455) which was coming from Kathua side to stop but driver of the vehicle instead of stopping the vehicle accelerated it, broke the Naka barrier and escaped from the spot. The truck was chased and intercepted near Nonath. During checking, police found five bovines laden in the said truck which were rescued. A case vide FIR No 3/2018 under section 188 RPC 2/3 PCA Act was registered against the driver who escaped from the spot.
