JAMMU: Katra Football Club (FC) and Titan Sports Anantnag won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing 11th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament at GGM Science College Ground, here on Monday.
In the first match, Katra FC trounced Bayern FC 5-4 in sudden death. Earlier, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. It was Bayern, who took the first lead through Abhishek in the very second minute of the match. However, the lead was equalised in the 35th minute by Kata FC through Prafful.
It was followed by the tie-breaker which too could not yield any results forcing the organisers to decide the game in sudden death.
Meanwhile, in other match of the day, Titan Sports defeated Sainik Colony Football Club (FC) 2-0. Qasim Khan (44th) and Bashir Ahmed (62nd) were the scorers.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel including Suresh Gupta, Dheeraj Meenia, Rahul Sharma, Moon Stephen, Ricky Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Sanjay Kumar.
Today’s matches were witnessed by S.M Gill (Ex. MLC), Zameer Thakur (President JKFA), Sheikh Mehmood (Retd.) President DFA Jammu, Fayaz Ahmed (District President DFA Kashmir), Featus Sotra, Yousuf Don, Romesh Chander, Charan Dass, Harbans Lal and Rajesh Kumar.
