JAMMU: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Channi Himmat on Monday felicitated outstanding athletes of the school, who won four medals in the just concluded 15th State Athletics Championship, here.
The efforts of Shikha Sharma, a 12th standard student were lauded by the Principal, Parveen Akhtar for winning gold in 100 meters and 200 meters track events while competing in 18 years age category. She also represented the State in 63rd National School Games held at Haryana.
Mohd Adil, a student of 11th standard, secured silver medal in Shot Put event in 18 years age group. An outstanding sportsperson, Adil won silver medal in recently held Judo Championship.
Another athlete, Mohd Azam of class 12th brought laurels to the institution winning bronze medal in Shot Put event district police games.
Meanwhile, principal applauded the students for brining laurels to the school. She appreciated the staff for encouraging the students in co-curricular activities. She wished good luck to medal winners for future.
