SAMBA: Police on Monday foiled bovine smuggling bid by rescuing three bovines, however smuggler managed to escape from the spot.
According to a report, on a specific information, a party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh SHO Police station Ghagwal laid a Naka on Jammu Pathankot National Highway near Tapyal and signaled a Mahindra (JK06B-1287) coming from Kathua side for checking. Instead of stopping the vehicle, driver accelerated it and tried to escape but police party chased it and intercepted vehicle after a short distance. On checking, police found it loaded with three bovines which were rescued. A case vide FIR No.1/2018 under section 188 RPC,2/3 PAC Act,179,183 MV Act was registered and investigation is on to nab the driver.
