KATHUA: Kartar Public School Barnoti organises industrial visit to Chenab Textile Mills, Kathua, a part of Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd., a blue chip company of the K K Birla Group for students of Classes 9th to 12th. The trip was aimed at providing practical knowledge along with classroom teaching to students and to keep them abreast with the corporate culture and provide practical industrial interface as an integral part of the curriculum
During the visit, the students were divided into groups and mentors were attached to each group by the administration. The mentors provided detailed information to students about the technicalities involved in the production process. The students had an overall visit of the plant to have a first-hand practical experience of the industrial culture and the manufacturing process wherein they were guided and briefed by the experts from the respective sections. The students were also provided an insight into quality control process. Students witnessed the state of the art machineries and modern equipment’s for processing and quality testing of yarn. Different types of manmade and synthetic fibers were also made familiar to the students. The process of yarn sorting was also explained to them.
Principal Mamta Agarwal appreciated the efforts of the teachers in organizing the visit and expressed her gratitude towards the Management of the Chenab Textile Mills to provide an opportunity to the students to have a learning exposure of the corporate culture and production process. Chairman of the School, Er. Nirmaljit Singh AMN stressed upon the idea that such events shall be routine affair of the school as these kinds of activities encourage the students to perform more and narrow down the gap between theory and practice.
